Taiwan based phone manufacturer Hiotech computer Corparation (HTC corp) is planning to exploit the mid priced smartphones category ranging from Rs 10,000 - 25,000 while doubling its market share in India in the coming months
HTC 's president for South Asia Mr Faisal Siddiqui, said, "we will be focussing on the mid-level products ranging from Rs 10,000-25,000 as the category constitutes nearly 40 per cent of the market share in India. though, we have a wholesome product range comprising of budgetto premium phones "
The premium smartphone segment (above Rs35000) which constitutes 5-7 per cent of market share is also on the company's radar as it launched its flagship product, HTC One M9+ which is priced at Rs 52,500
"India is one of the top four markets for HTC after the US, China and Europe and has witnessing 25 per cent growth globally " Mr siddiqui said.
the company also plans to capture a market share of 12 per cent from the current 6 per cent. and for this , it will add 6,000 more distribution networks to current 14,000 in next 10 months]
